MURAT SÜMER


 

He graduated from H.Ü. Ankara State Conservatory, Violin Depertment in 1990. During his undergraduate years, he attented master classes of Pierre Amoyal and Max Rabinovic. He played in Turkish and international orchestras and had concerts in Turkey, France, Italy, Netherlans and Spain.

 

He completed his Post Graudate studies in 1993, studying violin with Ionescu Galati, chamber music with Yuri Abdullayev and harmony with İstemihan Taviloğlu. He studied Conductiry with Ionescu Galati, Nazım Rızayev and Rengim Gökmen, harmony and conturpuantal with Sami Hatipoğlu.

 

He worked as the chief violinist of Anadolu University Academic Orchestra and played as a soloist with the same orchestra from 1991 to 1997. Between 1995 and 1997i he was the chief violinist of Yunus Emre Quarted.


Between 1996-1999, he worked as the chief assistant and chief of the Anadolu University Youth Symphony Orchestra.

 

Between 1999-2007, he worked as the Head of String Instruments in Anadolu University State Conservatory.

 

Between 2008-2011, he conducted many concert with Anadolu University Academic Orchestra in Eskişehir and Vienna.

 

Between 2009 – 2012 He was the conductor of Marmaris Chamber Orchestra of Marmaris Philarmonic Association and conducted many concerts in Marmaris, Muğla and Vienna.

 

He worked as the conductor of Afyon Kocatepe Universty Academic Orchestra during the acedemic year of 2011-2012.

 

He has been giving violin, chamber music, applied instrument education and orchestra lessons in Anadolu Universty State Conservatory since 1990.

 

He was the jury member of some National and International Contests and he conducted various orchestras in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhistan, Austria and Slovakia.

 

He worked as the General Music Director of Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra during the acedemic year of 2014-2019.

He currently works as the General Music Director of the "Yunus Emre Chamber Orchestra" and as a lecturer at the Anadolu University State Conservatory.

Since 2022, he has been giving concerts as the Permanent Guest Conductor with the Wiener Stadtorchester.
